Have you ever felt like you wanted to roll around in some mud and lie out in the sun all day? Well have I got a place for you. Glen Ivy is a hot spring located in Corona that lets you do jut that for the low low price of an arm and a leg. Believe me, it's worth it. Their main attraction to is their red clay mud baths, eucalyptus shea and aloe butter Grotto and world class massages.
Entrance will typically run you about $50 during the week and $64 for the weekend. If it's your birthday you can forgo the entrance fee if you want to buy a $100 50 minute massage, shea butter wrap or facial. A Total Wellness Package, that includes a trip to an underground Grotto where they rub warm aloe and shea butter all over your body will run you $175 on weekends and $155 on weekdays.
The food here is portioned well, limited in variety and over priced. Almost everything on the menu is $15-$20 a plate and the drink is a refillable fountain drink you can take with you everywhere but after a while you may grow tired of drinking a Coke or Vitamin Water all day. The nachos come in two sizes, the large one says they serve 3-4 people, what they actually mean is the nachos serve 3-4 people on diets, and while it looks big in the picture you may be left wanting In N Out afterwards.
Why you should go here
It's your birthday and your idea of a good day is going to a quiet place to read, relax and roll around in the mud a little. They have a hot and cold pool that, to me, is the highlight of the entire spa. You start in either pool and spend 5 minutes in the hot 103 degree pool and 30 seconds to a minute in the cold 55 degree pool. Transition back and forth 10 times and it is the equivalent of attempting to give yourself hypothermia and relief from hypothermia 10 times in an hour. It sounds horrible, it is actually amazing.
They say they have 19 pools, they actually have 10 usable pools and 9 fountains that resemble pools. If you plan on going on a weekend, it's going to be packed, and if you're going during the spring; it's worse. But never fear, take a day off work during the week and there is nearly no one here and better yet it's more affordable.
