So you want to become a witch or in my case, a wizard but you don't know where to find yourself a wand. Look no further, Ollivanders has got you covered. Since the late 90's and early 00's Harry Potter has inspired a generation of people but what keeps them inspired long after the movies special effects end up outdated? Theater.
The process of finding a wand at Ollivander's beats any online store experience that Amazon or eBay could give you because it personalizes the event and although it may seem familiar if you've read the books it is still memorable. Enter Ollivanders, a store among many stores in Hogsmeade. Every hour there another groups is led through the front doors and you are ushered in by an assistant who leads you into a room covered from head to toe in wands. He introduces himself and ask you to wait," Ollivander will be right with you" A false door opens on the far left side and the group is led into a poorly lit room. Ollivander himself is there to greet you, and as he parses through the group he finds one person to be fitted for the wand. I won't go into too many details but the experience itself is a lot of fun. There is so much detail inside the World of Harry Potter, from the boxes the wand are presented in, to the effects they make when you wave them in front of store shops. It brings you into the world like no other experience. There is even a woosh of air that rushes through the room when the wand finally chooses the witch/wizard a la when Harry found his 11" long, holly phoenix feather core.
Live Theater. It's the thing that keeps loyal Harry Potter readers coming back to read the books and rewatch the movies.
